Congratulations Dr C! How did you find Helen Mort? I follow her work interestedly.

Hi Ronald! I'm also a fan of Helen's work. Helen is a Professor with the Manchester Metropolitan University where I did my PhD: although mainly known for her poetry, she has a keen interest in Place Writing, and I attended a few events she arranged. Here's her uni web-page: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/staff/profile/professor-helen-mort

Thank you, David. It took complete dedication for three years and I enjoyed... ooh.... 95% of it.

BTW, I love your Substack - I find this period of French history absolutely fascinating.

Thanks very much, Yasmin. My stack is in a way my substitute for advanced post-graduate studies. I once started a PhD and abandoned it after the first semester. I admire your stick-to-it-iveness!

Ah, David. Maybe it wasn't quite the right time for you. Perhaps in the future... But I think you can make a few dreams come true with Substack.

Yes, I’m optimistic about the potential here on Substack. Onward!
